Anne Dinges, senior in Agronomy and Global Resource Systems, spent this past summer completing her Globe 321 internship in Uruguay, assisting in research at Universidad de la Republica in Montevideo.  While in Uruguay, Dinges looked into the genetics of a wild relative of the cultivated potato.  This research has implications for global potato production as genetic diversity is important to increase pest and disease resistance and environmental adaptability.

In early November, Dinges traveled to the American Society of Agronomy’s annual meeting to present her undergraduate research and compete in the 2018 Research Symposium Poster Contest.  She was awarded first place in the Crops and Genetics category.

Congratulations, Anne!
