EARTH Program Builds Connections in St. John, Gilbert FFA

April 25

The Gilbert FFA chapter raised more than $6,200 to support the EARTH Program on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. The EARTH Service-Learning Program allows Iowa State University students travel to the island of St. John for a summer or an entire semester to work, live and help in the community. Gilbert FFA Alum, Adam Davis (Agricultural Education, ’18), served as an EARTH Service-Learner in Spring 2017 and formed a connection between St. John and Gilbert FFA.

When Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit St. John in the Fall 2017, Gilbert FFA saw an opportunity to assist in the rebuilding by fundraising for the EARTH Program. The program is incredibly honored by the efforts of the Gilbert FFA and are very grateful for their kind contributions!
