Global Engagement
Dr. Nonnecke serves as the Faculty Coordinator for Global Resource Systems and holds the Global Professorship in Global Resource Systems.  She also is a University Professor and Morrill Professor at Iowa State University.  She has over 30 years of experience in agriculture, including teaching, research and extension in both domestic and international horticulture.  She has worked in research and outreach projects in fruit crops and university education projects in China, Germany, Latvia, South Africa, and Uganda.  Dr. Nonnecke has lectured in or led study abroad courses in over 15 countries.   She serves as associate director of education programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods and co-developed and co-leads the Service Learning, School Garden study abroad courses and its development program aimed at youth in the Kamuli District of Uganda.  Dr. Nonnecke also co-coordinates the EARTH Program, a service learning program in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
