Study Abroad Fair and Passport Application Opportunity

A one-stop shop to learn about adventures abroad — interning, studying and volunteering opportunities, ranging from one week to one year.  While at the fair, start planning your next adventure abroad, apply for a US Passport (details below), talk to program representatives, learn about study abroad scholarships, talk to Financial Aid and Thielen Health, and discover options offered by your college’s International Programs Office!  For more information about the fair, visit www.studyabroad.iastate.edu/fair.

 

The U.S. Postal Service will have staff available to accept passport applications and renewals. What you will need when you apply for your passport:

1) Completed Application Form found online at www.travel.state.gov (use black ink and print one sided).

• Use form DS-11 if you are applying for the first time or if your previous passport was issued when you were younger than 16.

• Use form DS-82 if you are renewing and your previous passport was issued when you were age 16 or older.

2) Proof of US Citizenship (provide one of the following):

• Previous fully valid US passport

• Certified US birth certificate

• Consular report of birth abroad or certification of birth

• Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship

3) Proof of Identity (provide one of the following):

• Current, valid driver’s license (ISU ID also required if your state ID is NOT issued in Iowa)

• Government employee ID

• Military ID

4) One – 2″ x 2″ Color Photograph (Available for $15 at the fair)

 

5) Fees (payable via cash, debit card, or two separate checks)

• $110 application fee for 4 to 6 weeks processing

• $60 additional fee for an expedited passport – 2 to 3 weeks processing

• $35 acceptance fee
