Globie Malcolm Smith selected for national ag program

Malcolm Smith, junior in Global Resource Systems and Public Service and Administration in Agriculture has been selected to participate in US Department of Agriculture’s Outlook Forum Student Diversity Program.  This program is designed to introduce students to contemporary agribusiness, future trends, scientific research, and agricultural policy in today’s real world environment.  Program participants will arrive in Washington, D.C. on February 17 for two days of activities prior to attending the Agricultural Outlook Forum, which will be held on February 19-20, 2015, in Arlington, Virginia.  The theme of this year’s forum is “Smart Agriculture in the 21st Century – A Discussion on Innovation, Biotechnology, and Big Data”

This program sponsored by CHS, Inc., a Fortune 100 agricultural firm, and Farm Credit, a nationwide network of borrower-owned lending institutions,  as well as the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service, Economic Research Service, and Natural Resources Conservation Service.
