On February 26, 2019, the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) hosted the 3rd Annual College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) International Dinner at the Molecular Biology Building on ISU campus. Nearly 70 participants attended, representing undergraduate, graduate, international, and domestic students and faculty/staff on campus. The purpose of the dinner is to connect international and domestic students on campus, giving students an expanded network of friendships within CALS. Participants enjoyed a free meal, a CALS study abroad t-shirt, some fun door prizes, and an opportunity to share their perspectives on agriculture with their peers while listening to remarks from Dean Acker (CALS Administration) and Brian Meese (Meese Agronomics, LLC). Global Resource Systems (GRS) students were well-represented at the dinner as there were over 15 GRS students in attendance. Next year, the CALS International Dinner will return to being an annual fall event, so students and faculty interested in attending next year should look for a fall date in the coming months.
