GRS students welcome 2003 World Food Prize Laureate Catherine Bertini

October 17

On Wednesday, October 16th, 2018, GRS students welcomed 2003 World Food Prize Laureate Catherine Bertini to campus for a lecture titled “Challenging the Status Quo”. In her remarks, Ms. Bertini reminded students to “keep your eye on the mission”, “build a culture of teamwork”, and “always do the right thing” as she discussed her lifetime work in policy, hunger, nutrition, gender, and food aid. A roundtable discussion followed and students were able to ask Ms. Bertini questions about the contributions she has made and how students can tackle these ongoing issues as they begin their careers. Ms. Bertini continues to be an inspiration to many and we are thankful she could take time to visit with our students.
