Global Engagement
Dr. Blanchong began participating in student study abroad experiences at ISU in 2013. These programs include Antarctica, Ecuador, Thailand, and Uganda. She is particularly interested in leading service-learning, study-abroad programs, especially programs focused on natural resources. In these programs, students and faculty live and work with families in rural, often-impoverished areas. Students have the opportunity to appreciate the daily challenges of living in a developing nation while comparing and contrasting US and local approaches to sustainability and conservation.
